Kinda Eclectic Card

Kinda Eclectic Card Sketch for CYCI#118

Kinda Eclectic card for CYCI118 created by design team member, Pam Staples. #pamstaples #stampinup #kindaeclecticThe Can You Case It? challenge blog has a fun card sketch this week.  When I first looked at the sketch, I wasn’t certain what I was going to do for my design team card but sudden inspiration popped out at me in the form of the Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set when I realized the sun stamp was perfect for the large circle.  I’m also determined to use up as much washi tape as possible!  Colors are a soft pallet of Blushing Bride, Wisteria Wonder, and Mint Macaron.

I stamped the sun with So Saffron then placed the strip of Mint Macaron Washi Tape from the Botanical Gardens Designer Washi Tape across the card front.  The large flower is stamped using Blushing Bride and the Flower Shop Stamp Set then punched out with the coordinating Pansy Punch.  I added center flowers punched out of Blushing Bride card stock using the Blossom Bunch Punch then finished off with a White Perfect Accent.  A little butterfly stamped with Wisteria Wonder using the Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set, punched out with the Bitty Butterfly Punch and finished off with three tiny Pearl Accents creates the perfect finishing touch.  The sentiment is from the Grateful Bunch Stamp Set and stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

CARD: Retiring Product Pictogram Punches on PCCC192

I’m sharing another retiring product called the Pictogram Punches Stamp Set over at the Paper Craft Crew for the Weekly Card Sketch Challenge!   Come on over and check out this weeks sketch as well as the Design Team submissions.  The challenge starts today and ends on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 @ 11:55 PM ET.

Pictogram Punches

Retiring Products

PCCC192-Pictogram-Punches-retiring-product. Handmade card by Pam Staples.

One of my favorite features of the Pictogram Punches Stamp Set is that it coordinates with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.  I am sad to say that both of these products are retiring and part of this retiring product highlight.  This is a great stamp set for creating quick cards.  Today’s card came together just as I pictured using the vase.  I actually have 2 versions of this weeks card sketch that are just slightly different from each other yet very different.

PCCC192-Pictogram-Punches-retiring-product. Handmade card by Pam Staples.

Both cards I’m sharing feature Daffodil Delight from the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack layered with Whisper White.  Also, the front whisper white layer on both cards are stamped with Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo using the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set.  The first card I’m sharing has an added banner using the Brights Designer Series Paper in the Daffodil Delight and the second card uses the Melon Mambo for the banner.  At this point is were the cards change significantly…

PCCC192-Pictogram-Punches-retiring-product. Handmade card by Pam Staples.

On the first card I’ve stamped the vase using the “Huffing Technique” which is colored using both the Melon Mambo and Old Olive Stampin’ Write Markers.  I used another retiring product called the Note Tag punch to punch out the vase.  The flowers from the Pictogram Punches stamp set are stamped with the Daffodil Delight then punched out with the flower from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.  Flowers were easily attached using glue dots and finished off with Brights Candy Dots…  And, yes, the Glue Dots are another retiring product which I’m definitely going to miss.  I added a punched Melon Mambo 1/2″ circle following with the sketch.  The finishing touch is another retiring product known as the Expressions Natural Elements which I sponged with Daffodil Delight then attached to the card front as my sentiment.  Honestly, I don’t know why I haven’t used the Expressions Natural Elements more often as they are really cool and look amazing when sponged with a little color.

Now, for the second card, the vase and flowers feature the same colors as the first card other than I used Daffodil Delights Candy Dots instead of the Melon Mambo.  The vase is punched out using the Decorative Label punch and attached as a layer over the banner.  I added a Daffodil Delight 1/2″ punched circle.  As the finishing touch, I added the “Happiness Always” from the And Many More Stamp Set which is, again, a retiring product.

Oh, boy…  So many retiring product!  Now, YOU don’t want to miss out on these items.  Go ahead and place your order TODAY!

CARD: Bravo and Congratulations Theme on SUOC 147

Bravo!  Congratulations! It is time for another challenge from Stampin’ Up! Only Challenges. The next theme is Congratulations.  We invite you to come play along as this challenge starts today and ends on May, 6 at 6am ET.

Bravo and Congratulations!

While I continue my journey to share retiring products, I’ve pulled out the Bravo Stamp Set.  This has been a fun stamp set to use and while I’m sad to say farewell, I know there will be new stamp sets that I’ll fall in love with just as much as the Bravo Stamp Set.  Everyone has periods in their life when they need to say Bravo and Congratulations…  The Bravo Stamp Set is perfect for such sentiment.  While the main theme of this stamp set is to say Congratulations it is also versatile in other ways.

Bravo Graduation Card

Bravo and Congratulations card created for SUO Challenge by design team member, Pam Staples. #bravo #stampinup #pamstaples #sunnygirlscraps

I choose to use the Hip-Hip Hooray stamp from the Bravo Stamp Set which doesn’t scream “congratulations” but it works.  Actually, this card could easily be a birthday card, graduation card, general congratulations… you get the idea!  My original thought was to use this as a graduation card for one of our niece’s but I couldn’t figure out what my niece’s school colors were before I needed to complete the card.  I did eventually get a text message from my other niece what the school colors are and lets just say that I’ll be making a duplicate of this card using Blue & Red!

Bravo and Congratulations card created for SUO Challenge by design team member, Pam Staples. #bravo #stampinup #pamstaples #sunnygirlscraps

The Whisper White card front is stamped using Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set with Crushed Curry Classic Ink.  Then I stamped the balloon strings using the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set.  Balloons are a great way to celebrate and say “congratulations” so I stamped two balloons with Crushed Curry and Delightful Dijon along with a Tuxedo Black outline.  The Hip-Hip Hooray is stamped with Night of Navy and I used the Triple Banner Punch to create the banner.  I layered the card front onto the Regals Designer Series Paper Stack in Night of Navy.  Balloons were then attached to the card front and finished off with the It’s My Party Enamel Dots.

That’s it!  A quick, congratulations card.  I used more stamp sets that I had planned but I love the way it came together.  Now I just need to make a similar card using Red & Blue colors!

Don’t forget to visit the SUO! Challenges Blog to check out the creations from the other Design Team members!

I invite you to pin any of my creations to Pinterest and to share your thoughts or questions by leaving me a comment.  I love hearing from all my readers – word of mouth is one of the greatest forms of flattery.

CARD: Farewell, Good Bye… Retiring Product spotlight on NC Stampin’ Up! Demo Blog Hop

Welcome to this months North Carolina Stampin’ Up! Demo Blog Tour!  Each month starting at 8 PM EST on the last Sunday of the month, we feature a new theme.  This month we are featuring Retiring Product, Mother’s Day or Feminine projects.  So, welcome to the April 2016 NC Stampin’ Up! Demo Blog Tour!

Apple of My Eye

Retiring Product Spotlight

I have two fun cards for you featuring the Apple of My Eye Stamp Set which is one of the Retiring Products that will be gone as of May 31, 2016!  This is a fun stamp set great for anyone that is a fruit lover!  Cards don’t have to be fancy or full of embellishments to be gorgeous… Both of these cards are relatively simple, easy to create and re-create along with featuring a clean design.

Apple of My Eye Stamp Set – Retiring Product

Retiring-Product-Apple-of-my-eye008

The first card features the pear shape from the Apple of My Eye Stamp Set.  The pear is stamped with Wild Wasabi Classic Ink and the stem is Chocolate Chip then the leaf is Old Olive.  I stamped the Thank You with the Chocolate Chip as well over the pear shape.  Along the edge, there is a strip of Subtle Designer Series Paper Stack in the Wild Wasabi to keep that as part of the main theme.  A card stock layer of Wild Wasabi sets off the card front from the Thick Whisper White card base.  Using Washi Tape with a button and linen thread are how I finished off the details of the card.  The Everyday Chic Designer Washi Tape is another product retiring and this retiring product is ONLY available while supplies last!  Believe it or not, Silver Metallic Buttons are also going away…  Insert SAD face!  Thank goodness I’m not loosing the Linen Thread!

So, what do you think?  Cute, Clean and Simple card!  Fun to Make!

Saying farewell to Retiring Product. The Apple of My Eye Stamp Set featured with a Lemon Card created by Pam Staples. #stampinup #retiringproduct #stampinup

For the second card I am featuring the “citrus” shape which could easily be a lemon such as I stamped on this card, it could be a lime or an orange.  The Lemon is stamped with Daffodil Delight and the sentiment is stamped with Tuxedo Black.  Along the left edge, I’ve attached a piece of the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack in Daffodil Delight.  Following along with the design of the Pear Card, I then added the Everyday Chic Designer Washi Tape along with a Brights Designer Button tied with the Black Baker’s Twine.

Again, a quick and simple card that is so much fun to create!  I may need to make a whole series of these cards featuring all the fruits that I can think of that can be stamped using the Apple of My Eye Stamp Set!

Again, thanks for joining the fun and I invite you to visit Frances Wagner by clicking on her name or the NC Demos Blog Button below!  You are going to love her blog and fun technique that she is sharing (FYI… I had the pleasure of learning about the technique when she did a Periscope).

CARD: Stampin’ Up! Retiring Product Spotlight on CYCI117

I have a Stampin’ Up! Retired Product spotlight for you today featuring the Words of Truth Stamp Set and it’s also Sunday so you know what that means… I’m over at the Can You Case It? Challenge Blog for the Weekly Challenge!   Come on over and check out this weeks challenge as well as the Design Team submissions.  The challenge starts today and ends on Friday, April 29th @ Noon PST.

Stampin’ Up! Retired Products Spotlight

Color Challenge CYCI #117

I love springtime, the warmer weather of April and spring showers…  but this time of year also brings the announcement of the Stampin’ Up! Retiring Product List!  Each year there leading up to April there is always some speculation as to what will retire then the Retired Product List is released (sad face!).  While I’m sad to see so many wonderful products retire I’m also anxiously awaiting the pre-order that starts in May!  For Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators, May is like Christmas for a child!!!!  The ANTICIPATION… I want to order NOW but I know I must wait.  It is SO hard having to wait.  In the meantime, I will be focusing on featuring various retiring products as part of a Retiring Product Spotlight.

Words of Truth Retiring Product Spotlight

Stampin' Up! Retiring Product Spotlight with Words of Truth handmade by Pam Staples for CYCI 117. #pamstaples #stampinup #retiringproducts #wordsoftruth

The Words of Truth Stamp Set is a retiring stamp set and the focus of this Retiring Product Spotlight!  I’m actually sad to see this one go because if was only available for one year… I love the phrases and feel this set is so versatile.  It can be used on cards, scrapbook pages, Project Life and Home Decor!  Here is a card I created using the stamp set.  The Can You Case It? team has a color challenge and I’ll confess that I also pulled out a retired Stampin’ Up! In Color from last year called Crisp Cantaloupe.  The color challenge features a Peach, Black and Cream color.

For the card, I started with a Basic Black card base layered with Very Vanilla on the inside then Crisp Cantaloupe on the outside along with another Basic Black and Very Vanilla Layer.  On the top layer, I stamped a background using the Timeless Textures Stamp Set with the Crisp Cantaloupe.  Using the Words of Truth, I stamped the Remember with Basic Black along with the phrase “you’re all kinds of awesome!”  I cut the phrase into individual words and attached them to the bottom right corner of the card front.  The “remember” is front and center as the focal point of the card.  The final touch was to add Basic Black Candy Dots – another Retiring Product.

CARD: Balloon Celebration CYCI116 Sketch

It’s a beautiful Sunday and you know what that means… I’m over at the Can You Case It! Challenge Blog for the Weekly Challenge as I bring you a fun and bright Balloon Celebration!   Come on over and check out this weeks challenge as well as the Design Team submissions.  The challenge starts today and ends on Friday, April 22nd @ Noon PST.

Fun, Bright Balloon Celebration

Card Sketch CYCI#116

Balloon Celebration card created by Pam Staples for Can You Case It Sketch Challenge 116. #stampinup #pamstaples #sunnygirlscraps #cyciIt is a lovely day this Sunday and I’m really excited about this weeks card!  If you haven’t guessed already… I LOVE the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set.  So, I have a quick and cute story.  While making the card for this weeks Challenge, my son noticed the balloons stamped on my desk top paper and he was so excite!  He held up the sheet then looked at me and said “Mommy, BALLOONS! Mommy, I love balloons.”  It was just so sweet and one of the few times he has acknowledged and expressed an interest in stamping.  It was a very happy Mommy moment!

Balloon Celebration card created by Pam Staples for Can You Case It Sketch Challenge 116. #stampinup #pamstaples #sunnygirlscraps #cyci

This card is so awesomely easy to make!  When I saw the sketch I knew the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set was perfect.  I started with the card front base using the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack in Daffodil Delight layered with Whisper White.  The balloons are stamped using Memento Ink for the outline then stamped with Tangelo Twist Classic Ink and Cajun Craze and finished off with a Tangerine Tango Candy Dot.  I punched the balloons out with one of my absolute favorite tools… the Balloon Bouquet Punch!  To help with placement, I placed the balloons on the card front then stamped the balloon string with the Memento Ink and attached the balloons to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  In the bottom right corner is stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set.  Stars are stamped with Memento Black as the outline and Daffodil Delight Classic Ink to finish the card.

If you haven’t noticed already… This card uses only ONE stamp set!  I’ve challenged myself to use only one stamp set on a card at least once a month just to show my readers that YOU can create a beautiful card using only one stamp set.  One of the features I love most about the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set is that there are numerous sentiments that a stamper can use so the Happy Birthday could easily be changed to Congratulations or other combination of words from the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set.

Confetti Stars Border Punch and CYCI #114

I’m celebrating birthdays with Confetti Stars Border Punch and since it is Sunday, you know what that means… I’m over at the Can You Case It? Challenge Blog for the Weekly Challenge!   Come on over and check out this weeks challenge as well as the Design Team submissions.  The challenge starts today and ends on Friday, April 8th @ Noon PST.

Confetti Stars Border Punch

Confetti Stars Border Punch card created by Pam Staples for Can You Case It 114. #stampinup #pamstaples #sunnygirlscrapsI’ve had this idea for a while of using the Confetti Stars Border Punch on a card featuring a diagonal design.  When I saw the Sketch Challenge for CYCI #114 I just knew it was time to pull out the Confetti Stars Border Punch and put this card together instead of leaving it as a fleeting thought in my pretty little brain.  This was a fun card to put together and I really do like the way it turned out.  It isn’t really any gender specific and works great as a birthday card for just about anyone!

Confetti Stars Border Punch Birthday Celebration

So, you’ll notice that my diagonal is the opposite of the sketch… That was because I didn’t pay attention when I cut my diagonal positions!  But, hey… Mistakes are always opportunities and the card works with the sketch.  The first layer of the card front is Basic Black because I wanted the Confetti Stars Border Punch to really pop against the Whisper White.  I used the It’s My Party Designer Series Paper Stack for the top triangle.  The colors are Mint Macaroon, Crushed Curry and Basic Black – not exactly a color combination you would normally see but I love how the Crushed Curry pops against all the other colors.  Washi Tape was the perfect accent along with the White Perfect Accents.  The birthday sentiment is from the Sunburst Sayings Stamp Set.  I used the Stars Collection Framelits for the stars.

Happy Birthday Wishes on the NC Demo Blog Hop

The NC Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators Blog Hop is celebrating with many Happy Birthday Wishes!  Yes, it is the last Sunday of the Month.  Happy Easter wishes to you as well.  Now, come and join us for some Happy Birthday Wishes!

North Carolina Stampin’ Up! Demos Happy Birthday Wishes

Happy Birthday Wishes are moving around the world because we ALL celebrate birthdays!  One of the best ways to say Happy Birthday is to actually send a physical card.  I know that I enjoy getting cards in the mail.  My birthday was earlier this month and I’m still getting Happy Birthday Wishes in the mail!  Words cannot express how meaningful these cards are especially knowing my friends and family took the time to write a note then drop it in the mail so I could have a physical reminder.

So…  Let us get going with the Happy Birthday Wishes Celebration!

160327-NCSUD Blog Hop001The first card I’m sharing features the Something To Say Stamp Set along with the Party Wishes Stamp set.  The colors are gender neutral great for male or female birthdays.  The background also features Timeless Texture Stamp Set.  Since this card was used for my Cards-A-Latte at Starbucks, I used the Tip Top Taupe in the background to create what looks like coffee rings and little splashes of Delightful Dijon and Mint Macaroon.

The Sentiment features the Mint Macaroon. With the Party Punch Pack is perfect for punching out the tiny balloons.  I used the Decorative Label punch to punch out the sentiment then created a border using the Mint Macaroon Card Stock and pieced it together.

Happy Birthday Wishes by Pam Staples #stampinup #pamstaples #rememberingyourbirthdayFor my second card I used the Works of Art Stamp Set which is perfect for creating clean and simple, quick cards!  The background is stamped with Watermelon Wonder, Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay.  Each flower in all three colors are punched out using the Petite Petals Punch then attached to a contrasting color on the stamped background.  The sentiment is from the Remembering Your Birthday Stamp Set and stamped with the Bermuda Bay Classic Ink.  I attached the card front to a Bermuda Bay layer.  The finishing touch is the addition of the White Perfect Accents – if you haven’t tried these yet you are missing out on a wonderful little embellishment.

Again, thanks for joining the fun and I invite you to visit Lisa Tedder by clicking on her name or the NC Demos Blog Button below!  You are going to love her blog and fun technique that she is sharing (FYI… I had the pleasure of learning about the technique when she did a Periscope).

I also invite you to pin my creations to Pinterest and to share your thoughts or questions by leaving me a comment.  I love hearing from all my readers – word of mouth is one of the greatest forms of flattery.  Don’t forget to follow me on Pinterest!
