PCCCS #32 – Best of Birthdays
Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me!
Yes, today is my Birthday! And, I just love the Best of Birthdays stamp set.
For this weeks Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch I challenge the Design Team to create Birthday Themed cards using the card sketch. I have to say that I just love all the birthday cards. I've also had fun the past few days creating Birthday Themed cards.
S
o, in honor of my Birthday, here is my design team submission for this weeks Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch featuring the Best of Birthdays stamp set!
The Happy Birthday Card is very cheery and fun with bright colors. The card base is Whisper White with a layer of Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper then I created a doily using the Daffodil Delight with the Delicate Doilies Sizzlits L which is layered under a strip of Pumpkin Pie Card Stock. The stamped image is from the Best of Birthdays Stamp Set stamped on whisper white. I used the Stampin' Marker to color the image with Pumpkin Pie for the words and flames while the candles and cake were colored with Real Red. Then I cut out the image and Real Red background layer using the NEW Oval Framelits. The flower was created using the 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch with an Antique Brad in the center. The flag is Whisper White cut out using the Hearts a Flutter Framelit and embossed using the Polka Dot embossing folder. The colors really are fun, bright and bold!

PCCCS 30 – Oh, Hello Stamp Set
Welcome to this weeks card sketch with Paper Craft Crew where I have featured the Oh, Hello stamp set. I love the sketch and plan to play with it more today and will post once I have another card or two done using this sketch but in the meantime, here is this weeks Design Team submission featuring the Oh, Hello stamp set for your viewing pleasure.
Oh, Hello
Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #30
I had just received the Tea For Two Designer Series Paper and really wanted to use it on this card. The colors began with the Island Indigo and just grew from that point. I love the Designer Series Paper but the main design ended up being hidden a bit. I knew I wanted to use the oval shape with the Chevron design from the Oh, Hello stamp set. I stamped the design using the So Saffron then stamped the Oh, Hello stamp set sentiment. At first I wasn't 100% certain where I was going but I do like the end product and find it to be refreshing with a taste of spring in the air. I also managed to use the build a brads for the first time.
Additional elements used include the Oval Framlit to cut the oval. I've also utilized one of my favorite embellishments which are the Pearls. The ribbon is the ruffled ribbon in the Island Indigo. Card stock used on the card include Island Indigo and So Saffron.

Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch 28
Welcome to another episode of the Paper Craft Crew featuring Card Sketch #28 with Color Challenge #5. So, I must confess that I really struggled with this color challenge and struggled with these colors. This isn't my favorite card but it is cute; perfect for a certain preschooler in my life to share with one of his teachers!
Storybook Friends Kid Friendly Card
For this weeks card sketch, I used the Storytime Designer Series Paper since it had the Wasabi Green which is one of the colors in this weeks color challenge. The other colors are So Saffron and Perfect Plum. Since the focus of this card turned into being kid friendly I knew I had to use the new Pinwheel sizzlet. I also embossed the Pinwheel before I assembled it. The stamp set is the Storybook Friends which coordinates with the Storytime Designer Series Paper.

Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #27
Ah, Tea Time! I'm a huge fan of Tea Cups and have a small collection of Tea Cups that I've collected or have given to me by a very good friend and mentor. As a young girl, I loved to hang out with our neighbor, Ellie. Over the years, she has passed on little gifts and family heirlooms to me that she knows I appreciates. My mom also loves to collect Tea Cups. Truthfully, I'm not a "big" tea drinker although I do know how to make a proper cup of British Tea as taught to me by my "cousin" Heather who is originally from the Coventry area of England. These are just a few of the reasons why I just love the Stampin' Up! Tea Shoppe Stamp Set.

Card Sketch #27
Tea Time and the Tea Shoppe come together to feature some wonderful Stampin' Up! products.[/caption]OK… I will admit that I did struggle a bit with this card. IN my mind I had a mental picture of how I wanted the card to look based on the card sketch. The large tea cup in the Tea Shoppe stamp set is the key focus of this card. I stamped the tea cup on Very Vanilla with versamark then used the Wild Wasabi embossing powder to heat emboss the tea cup. My next steps were to select my remaining elements. I really like the basic gray card stock as base for this card which is layered with Very Vanilla then Designer Series Paper ("DSP") called Fan Fair featuring Pink Pirouette as another primary color. The flower is created using the Blossom Punch to punch out three flowers from the Pink Pirouette card stock then they were crumpled and bound together with an Antique Brad. I then tied a Tea Time trinket around the brad. The "White Peony" was stamped with Basic Gray ink then punched out with the large oval punch and scallop oval punch.
So, I hope you enjoy some "Tea Time" on me!

Merry Christmas
SUOC #61 Blue Ornament
I'm thrilled to bring you this beautiful, blue Merry Christmas ornament that I made based off the ornament on the front of the Holiday Catalog. I used Night of Navy along with the Silver Glimmer paper for each of the ornaments that are hot glued together. The Kraft Tulle is woven in and hot glued with each of the individual ornaments to create this elegant ornament consisting of 10 smaller ornaments hot glued together. Warning… Be very careful working with hot glue
… These ornaments are really very intensive to make these OH so beautiful ornaments! It was fun to make and I made a bunch at one time. SO, I wish you a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and pray you enjoy the wonders of the season!
Merry Christmas!

MOJO261 – Perfectly Preserved
Mojo Monday 261 – Perfectly Preserved
This card was created using this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch (MOJO261) featuring the Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set with the Cannery Framelit Dies.
Serving Perfectly Preserved Pears
The card size is 5×5 square with the card base being Very Vanilla layered with Early Espresso and Pool Party. The circle background is cut out using the 3 1/2" Circle Bigz Die then embossed using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder. I then used the new Paper Piercing tool to create an outer circle. The stripe is from the Brights Designer Series Paper Patterns Stack and the Polka Dot flag is from teh Neutrals Collection Designer Series Paper Patterns Stack.
From the Perfectly Preserved stamp set, I stamped the jar, cover and pears. The Jar and cover were cut out using the Cannery Framelit set. I also wrapped linen thread around the cover and tied a tag onto the cover to finish the card. The tag is created using the Jewelry Tag punch and the sentiment is from the Tiny Tags stamp set.

SQSC #43 – Blue Ribbon Happy Birthday
The Blue Ribbon Stamp Set from the new 2012-2013 Stampin' Up! Catalog is one of my absolute new favorites! It is such a fun set and perfect for creating masculine cards as well as kids cards and with a little creativity can easily create a fun, feminine card as well. For this weeks Stampin' Queen's Sketch Challenge, I really felt the Blue Ribbon stamp set was the perfect match.
Stampin' Queen's Sketch Challenge #43
Blue Ribbon Happy Birthday

I started the base of the card with More Mustard Card Stock then layered Cherry Cobbler Card Stock which was cut using the Large Scallop Edgelits then embossed using the Delicate Designs Folder. Next, a layer of World Spectacular Designer Series Paper was placed on the card with the Denim Ribbon. The Blue Ribbon stamped image is stamped with Midnight Muse then the scallop circle is punched out using the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle and then I cut out the "ribbon" portion of the stamp set and attached it to the punched scallop circle image. The 3 More Mustard brads were added embellishments to finish the design details of the card along with "dad" stamped on the Cherry Cobbler just above the Denim Ribbon.

SQSC 42 – Summer Smooches Happy Birthday Balloon Celebration
Well, after taking some time off to focus on creating my entries for the Stampin' Up! Artisan Award Design Team, I'm now back in full swing. I'm really excited about the 2012-2013 Stampin' Up! So, onto this weeks Design Team entry for the Stampin' Queen's Sketch Challenge.
Stampin' Queen's Sketch Challenge #42
Summer Smooches Birthday Balloon Celebration
This is a fun card featuring the Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper along with the Delightful Dozen Stamp Set. The Delightful Dozen Stamp Set is so versatile. The Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper is bright and creates the perfect foil for this card as a birthday card. The balloons are created with 6 circles punched using the 1 1/4" Circle Punch from Stampin' Up! then folded in half and glued together to create the balloons. I used the Circles #2 Die to cut out the circle used on this card with the sentiment. Baker's Twine was used to create the Balloon strings and anchored with a brights button.
So, why does this card work? I focused on the balloons as creating a "triangular" focal point which leads each eye from point to point and a secondary focal is the use of the baker's twine to set linear direction on this card. Finally, the bright colors work together because they coordinate with the colors in the middle balloon.

SUOC #44 – Stampin’ Up! Elegant Bird Mother’s Day Card
Mother's Day!
Have you created a card for your mom? If not, now is a great time to make a card then share it with the Stampin' Up! Only Challenge blog! The new challenge celebrates Mom!
Stampin' Up! Only Challenge # 44
Elegant Bird Mother's Day Card
At first, I wasn't really certain about the Elegant Bird die for the Big Shot but after using the die I've discovered that it is a lot of fun and so elegant! For this card, I used a new technique that I learned from them Stampin' Success Magazine that demonstrators receive. The technique is called "Acrylic Distress". I used White Acrylic paint on the Pear Pizzazz Card Stock and cut out the Elegant Bird with my Big Shot then embossed the elegant bird with the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Embossing Folder. To bring out the Pear Pizzazz Card Stock, I used sand paper to remove some of the acrylic paint creating a distressed Elegant Bird.
The basic assembly of the card consists of Pear Pizzazz as the card base. I then used Twitterpatted Designer Series Paper on the bottom third of the card and Crumb Cake Ribbon Seam Binding which I gathered in the background. The Elegant Bird is layered on the gathered ribbon. The sentiment is stamped on Whisper White Card Stock then layered on Pear Pizzazz to create a flag. The end of the flag was created using the 1 1/4" Square Punch. Finally, the bow is created by wrapping the Crumb Cake Ribbon Seam Binding around my hand then gathering it together with an Antique Brad that was then layered on the bird and covers the edge of the flag.

Stampin’ Up! Only Challenge 43 – Rue Des Fleurs
Time again for another challenge with the Stampin' Up! Only Challenge blog! The focus for this challenge is Last Spring Fling – Occasions Mini Catalog… In just a couple of weeks, the 2012 Occasions Mini will be no more. Some of the stamps sets MIGHT make it into the new 2012-2013 Stampin' Up! Catalog but there is no guarantee as to what and how many. I'm excited to share with you the Rue Des Fleurs stamp set for this challenge!
Stampin' Up! Only Challenge 43 – Last Spring Fling with the Occasions Mini Catalog
Rue Des Fleurs Stamp Set
I hope you find inspiration in this card. This stamp set has a wonderful, vintage feel. I love vintage cards yet I was struggling at first as to how to use this stamp set. Finally, I settled on one of my favorite images in the set along with making it into a "Thank You" card. The background is dry embossed using the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder which I "colored with Wisteria Wonder then further distressed using the Distressing Essentials Kit from Stampin' Up!
The next layers include Soft Suede card stock layered with First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper. I also used the Distressing Essentials Kit to "stain" the designer paper which was then torn along one edge and "rolled" to increase texture as well as a distressed, vintage appearance. The image was stamped on Naturals Ivory then I distressed the edges using the Stampin' Up! Cutter kit along with the tea stain used to stain the card stock.
For the final touches, I used the Boho Blossoms Punch to created distressed flowers strategically placed in a triangular pattern to help pull the eye from one corner of the card to the next. The "triangular" pattern is crucial in this instance because I used bright, contrasting flowers for additional intensity. A triangular design helps keep the focus on the stamped image as well as the other elements of the card while creating a fun, bright contrast against the overall muted tones of the card.. I also love using the 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon to add interest along with the gathered look for the tales of the ribbon bow. The Jewel – Pearls are the last of the details I placed on the card to create the finishing touch.
So, tell me what you think! I really struggled at first but as the card came together I was enjoying the overall appearance and love the striking contrast of the Poppy Parade flowers against the muted tones of the overall card.
For additional inspiration, I encourage you to take the time and visit the Stampin' Up! Only Challenge blog to view all the submissions from the Design Team members!
