Butterfly Mania for SUOC #70

This week for the Stampin' Up! Only Challenge Blog we are featuring butterfly mania!  The challenge is to create a card using the butterfly as your main theme.

SUOC #70 – Butterfly Mania

SUOC070-PJSHere is my card featuring the Butterfly Mania theme for this challenge with Stampin' Up! Only Challenges.  I started with a base of Very Vanilla then I used Raspberry Ribble to stamp the background from the Everything Eleanor stamp set.  The second element I stamped using Primrow Petals which I cut out using the Apothocary Framelits.  For the butterfly, I used the Beautiful Butterfly die with Rasberry Ripple card stock then embossed using the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder finalizing the butterfly by adding an embellishment of Pearl Jewels.  The sentiment is from the Loving Thoughts Stamp Set.

PCCCS005 – Everything Eleanor Baby Card

Time for another sketch with the Paper Craft Crew!  Each week I look forward to seeing the design team creations along with the creations our readers submit.  I hope you take time to participate with this weeks card sketch.  For my design team submission, I'm featuring the Everything Eleanor Stamp Set.

Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #5

Everything Eleanor

Sweet Baby Girl Card featuring Everything Eleanor

Everything Eleanor Baby Girl card

So, I'm still on vacation until September 19th visiting my family in Minnesota.  I did bring a few Stampin' Up! supplies with me but I'm still limited to what I have and I must admit I'm enjoying the challenge.  One of the sets I brought along is the Everything Eleanor Stamp Set which is also going to be the September Stamp Set of the Month Club featured set.

I love how "sweet" this card turned out welcoming a baby girl to the family.  In fact, one of my college roommates recently adopted a little baby girl and I couldn't be happier for my friend, Angie, and her husband.  I hope to see them on September 15th and give her this card.  All I can say is that their little girl is SOOO cute and this card fits her!

The card starts with a Very Vanilla card base embossed using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder layered with a Very Vanilla "flag" embossed with the Argyle Embossing Folder.  I then stamped an image from the Everything Eleanor Stamp Set and cut it out using the Apothecary Accents Framelit that "somewhat" fits the image.  I then stamped the sentiment over the Everything Eleanor image.  The sentiment is from the A Word For You stamp set.  The blossom punch was used to create the background flower placed behind the cutout Everything Eleanor image.  The Bows create a special "sweetness" perfect for a little girl.

SUOC 53: From My Heart 3D Bag

Welcome to the next installment of the Stampin' Up! Only Challenge Blog.  For current SUO Challenge #53, the challenge is to create a box or bag.  To participate in our current challenge and view the other submissions by the design team, click HERE to visit the SUO Challenge blog!

SUOC 53: 3D Bags and Box Challenge

From My Heart 3D Bag

From My Heart BagCheck out this cute From My Heart 3D Bag I created!  It was a bit of a challenge since I'm still on "vacation" visiting my family in Minnesota for another couple of weeks.  Before I left I forgot to check to see what challenges I needed to be prepared for.  So, when I looked and discovered this was a 3D challenge I really didn't think I could pull it off with the few Stampin' Up! items I had brought with me on vacation!  Because, you know, I just can't leave it completely behind especially for a full month.

So, I started to brainstorm…  Doing a box was definitely a no go as I didn't have the supplies or means to make my own box.  Then, I thought about one of my very first projects.  It was a decorated paper lunch sack.  The first step I took was buying the much needed paper lunch sacks which are very inexpensive.  The completed bag turned out really cute and I love the overall look and feel.  I hope you enjoy it just as much.

A fun project recreating a simple "lunch sack" into a cute little gift bag.

The Gift Bag features the From My Heart Stamp Set along with the Apothecary Accents Framelits.  The background stamped image is from the Everything Eleanor Stamp Set.  The flowers are created with the blossom punch and the new 1 1/4" Scallop Circle punch.  I also used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack to add an accent to the "frame" created to feature the My Heart Stamp Set.

SUOC #47 – Fancy Frills

Time again for a Bi-weekly challenge from for the Stampin' Up! Only Challenge blog!  I actually had off from the previous challenge as we had guest designers.  But now I'm back!  Here is the bi-weekly challenge starting this week…

Stampin' Up! Only Challenge # 47

Fancy Frills

Layered Labels Stamp Set from Stampin' Up!This week on the SUO Challenge blog we are featuring Fancy Frills!  So, pull out your frilliest, fanciest stamps and embellishments!  Join us and create a card to share that uses some Fancy Frills.

For my design team submission, I started with a base color of Pink Pirouette layered with the new In Color, Primrose Petals embossed using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.  Then I stamped using the Layered Labels stamps set and cut the image out using the Apothecary Accents Framelits.  The ribbon is the Pink Pirouette 3/8" Taffeta tied with a little bow and a tag added.  Then for the final touch of girly frills was to add the little accent flowers.

This card was relatively quick and easy to create!  I enjoy the colors which add the the Fancy Frills feeling and, of course, the design of the stamp set used is also frilly.

Betsy's Blossoms Project # 1

Betsy's Blossoms Stamp Set

The first project featured today uses a new stamp set called Betsy's Blossoms from the 2012-2013 Stampin' Up! Catalog.  As the base for the card, I started with Whisper White card stock then created a layer using a beautiful and delicious, new 2012-2014 In Color called Raspberry Ripple!  The top layer is Whisper White with a beautiful flower from the Betsy's Blossoms stamp set stamped in Raspberry Ripple in the upper left quadrant of the card with a Rhinestone Basic Jewel in the center of the flower and two leaves stamped using another new 2012-2014 In Color called Gumball Green.  In the bottom right corner I stamped the sentiment from the Curly Cute stamp set using Summer Starfruit which is also a 2012-2014 In Color.  The final touch was to wrap Gumball Green 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon around the card and tie a beautiful bow.

Now, about the challenge…  Did you see how this card meets the requirements of the challenge?  I used Gumball Green, Raspberry Ripple and Summer Starfruit along with the Betsy's Blossoms Stamp Set!  Maybe you don't have any new product such as the new 2012-2014 In Colors and a new stamp set yet from the 2012-2013 Stampin' Up! catalog considering it was just released on June 1, 2012!  Don't worry…  WHEN you do buy the beautiful 2012-2014 In Colors and a newly release stamp set, just let me know on one of my blog posts so I can check out your creation!  I can't wait to see what you do…

 Petite Purse Project # 2

Petite Purse Bigz L for Big ShotProject # 2 features the Petite Purse Bigz L die for the Big Shot.  The base of the Petite Purse starts with Island Indigo card stock cut with the die to create the Petite Purse.  Before I assembled the purse, I stamped on the card stock using the leafy pattern from the Papaya Collage stamp set which is also new in the 2012-2013 Stampin' Up! Catalog.  I then assembled the Petite Purse and embellished it using the Language of Friendship stamp set to stamp the bird image with the Island Indago Classic Ink on the First Edition Designer Series Paper which I then punched out using the Bird Builder Punch.

The handle on the Petite Purse was created using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border.  I also created a small flower using the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack centered on the flap of the purse with a Rhinestone Jewel placed in the center.  Finally, I tied a piece of the Island Indigo 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon.

SQSC #28 – Fresh Vintage Butterfly Birthday

I'm really excited about this weeks card that I designed for the Stampin' Queen's Sketch Challenge # 28!  If you haven't guessed by the look of my blog, I just LOVE butterflies!  They are my "signature."  I even have several butterfly brooches that I've made using the Beautiful Butterfly Bigz Die.  I hope you enjoy this weeks challenge and find some inspiration to join along.  So, here we are…

Fresh Vintage Butterfly Birthday

Fresh Vintage Butterfly Birthday CardI love the simple elegance of this card along with the bright, fun color!  The card base starts with the Poppy Parade 2010-2012 In Color with the background being the First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper layered with Very Vanilla card stock.  To add depth, I used the Tea Stain from the Distressing Essentials kit.

Each butterfly is created using the Beautiful Butterfly Bigz Die for the Big Shot cut out of Poppy Parade card stock.  I then stamped the floral image from the Fresh Vintage Sale-A-Bration stamp set with Craft White ink on each butterfly, used the White Stampin' Emboss powder to heat emboss the floral design on each butterfly.  To create the body of the butterfly, I used the Pearl Jewels.  Each butterfly is also distressed using the Tea Stain ink.

The sentiment on the bottom is from the Curly Cute stamp set and stamped on Very Vanilla card stock which is again layered on the Poppy Parade card stock.  The end "tags" were created using the 1" square punch.  I then used the bone folder to help create the wavy effect of the card stock.

Overall, this is really a simple and quick card to create that has a lot of WOW!

SUOC 39 – Happy Birthday Triple Treat Flower

This weeks Stampin' Up! Only Challenge theme is "Happy Birthday."  We always need birthday cards for the challenge I'm featuring another stamp that is part of Sale-A-Bration as well as the Triple Treat Flower.

Triple Treat FlowerHere is the card I created using Basic Black and More Mustard. I stamped the background using the Fresh Vintage Stamp set and used the Stripes Embossing Folder for the white section to create texture.  The 3 rhinestone brads add interest in the upper left corner.  The basic black satin ribbon divides the stamped section from the whisper white.  I created a banner using the Curly Cute stamp set with the Happy Birthday sentiment.

Have you looked closely at the Triple Treat Flower?  It has three layers which you can punch using the Stampin' Up! punches then layer them together.  The punches used include the 5-Petal Punch, Fancy Flower Punch and 1/2" circle punch.  I also added a brad to the center of the flower.

I hope you enjoy and if you have the chance, visit the Stampin' Up! Only Challenge Blog to see all the other great design team samples and play along.

SQSC #26 – Fresh Vintage Sale-A-Bration

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine Day!  My husband and I celebrated on Monday with dinner out at the Melting Pot.  The Melting Pot is one of my favorite restaurants and the Valentine special is wonderful.  My husband generously lets me have his Lobster Tail.  Well, onto this weeks episode of the Stampin' Queen's Sketch Challenge.

Stampin' Queen's Sketch Challenge #26

Fresh Vintage Sale-A-Bration

Fresh Vintage Stamp Set

This week I'm featuring the Fresh Vintage 2012 Sale-A-Bration stamp set.  I love this stamp set and the floral design.  The main image I used is more of a background to the Butterflies and creates a beautiful floral layered over the three banners created with the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper.  The sentiment was created with the Fabulous Phrases stamp set matching together the words "forever love."  I used the Curly Label punch for the sentiment. The brad accent is also part of the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon & Brad Pack found in the 2012 Sale-A-Bration brochure.

The background is the Naturals White Card Stock.  The additional layers are Lucky Limeade which is one of the new 2011 – 2013 In Colors.  I love the 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon which finishes off this card.  Finally, the butterflies were created using the Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die.  The larger butterfly is also layered with vellum cardstock and I used the Pearl Jewels.

SQSC 26 SketchIf you have the opportunity, we would love to have you join in the fun and create a card using this weeks sketch for the Stampin' Queens!  Here is the sketch!  We love having our readers participate.  I know I enjoy seeing everyone's creations along with their interpretation of the card sketch.

Stylin’ Stampin’ Squad Blog Hop Sale-A-Bration and Valentine

Welcome to SunnyGirlScraps!

I'm excited about participating in the Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop!  If you've arrived from either Darcy Johnson's blog, DJ's Stampin' Place, or Kim Ryden's blog, Stamping with Kim, I hope you enjoyed their projects.  The Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop theme for the month of February is Sale-A-Bration or Valentines.  The one key requirement is that we post a card and 3D project.  I hope you enjoy the projects that I've posted.  If you enjoy my projects, I would LOVE to hear from you and ask that you leave a comment.  Finally, I encourage you to visit all the blogs on the blog hope.  So, on that note…

Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop

Sale-A-Bration Project # 1

Elementary Elegance Stamp Set

The first project I'm featuring for the Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop features the Elementary Elegance Stamp Set from the Sale-A-Bration brochure.  This is a beautiful stamp set that has a vintage appeal.

The base for this card starts with Very Vanilla.  I used the Doily background stamp with Baja Breeze classic ink to create a beautiful background stamped on a layer of Very Vanilla with distressed edges created using the Stampin' Up! Cutter Kit with the intent to accent the featured stamp set Elementary Elegance.  I love using the Seam Binding Ribbon for a ruched or gathered look.

The frame image in the Elementary Elegance Stamp Set was stamped on Very Vanilla card stock then I tore the image out, roughened up the edges then distressed using the Stampin' Up! Distressing Essentials Kit.  A cool feature of this stamp set is that the Curly Label Punch coordinates with this stamp set.  I actually stamped the "Hello" then three birds which I then punched out with the Curly Label Punch and layered over the frame image.  Final touches include the banner with sentiment along with the bow and a button tied onto the bow.

Valentines Project # 2

Valentine Petite Pocket Mini Book

Petite Pocket Mini Book Side ViewPetite Pocket Mini Book Twine ViewFor my second project, I decided to focus on Valentines Day since that is just around the corner.  This is a Petite Pocket Mini Book.  There are so many things you could do with this "mini" book such as putting a little photo, special quote, poem or bible verse on each of the little inserts.  The project features the Petite Pocket Bigz XL Die for the Big Shot along with the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper and Candy Conversations Stamp Set.

Petite Pockets InsertsPetite Pocket Mini Book InsertsUsing the Petite Pockets Die, I cut out three pockets.  The flap on each was cut off then I punched a half circle.  After these changes, I assembled the Petite Pockets. To decorate each pocket, I wrapped a piece of Twitterpatted Designer Series Paper around each of the Petite Pockets.  Then I punched two holes at the base of the Petite Pockets and tied all three pockets together using Hemp Twine.  I kept the decoration on the front of the Petite Pockets Mini Book fairly simple since I already added the Designer Series Paper.  I used the Full Heart Punch then stamped randomly using a stamp from the Tiny Tags Stamp Set with VersaMark.  The small flower from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack was punched out from Blushing Bride card stock.  I stamped the "love" sentiment from the Tiny Tags which was punched out using the Jewelry Tag Punch and attached to the small flower.

For the Petite Pockets Mini Book inserts, I used Whisper White card stock cut to fit each individual pocket.  Each insert is slightly different with the stamped image.  I used the Candy Conversations stamp set on each insert but on the first insert there are only 3 stamped hearts then 4 stamped hearts on the second insert and finally all the hearts are stamped on the third and final insert.  Each insert has a tab created from Riding Hood Red card stock and punched using the Round Tab punch.  For a final touch of elegance on the inserts, I used mini flower punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and attached each flower to the Round Tab using the Mini-Brads.
