Lovey-Dovey

I'm so excited to be sharing some fun projects.  The first project is a Clean and Simple Card featuring product that will be available when Sale-A-Bration arrives on January 28, 2014… Can we say FREE PRODUCT?  You'll find that it is a very easy card to create but has a simple POP of Color that will just WOW your socks off!  For the second project, I decided to do a clustering technique often found on Scrapbook Pages but becoming more common on handmade cards.  The third and final project is a cute, 3D Ghirardelli envelope – can we say YUM!

Project #1 – Clean and Simple Valentine

Hearts a Flutter Love

The card base is Whisper White cardstock embossed using the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder which is a Sale-A-Bration product that will be available on January 28, 2014 when you purchase $50.00 or more in Stampin' Up! product.  Next, I created a second layer also using Whisper White cardstock then stamped two hearts from the Hearts A Flutter Stamp Set using Strawberry Slush Classic Ink.  Next, I used the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp set and stamped small "blob" in the upper left corner with Pink Pirouette.  For the Banner in the upper Left corner, I used the NEW Sale-A-Bration Banner Blast stamp set and stamped the "love" banner using Basic Gray classic ink then it was punched out using the Banner Punch which is also a NEW Sale-A-Bration item…  HINT:  The Banner Punch is FREE during Sale-A-Bration with a $50.00 product order BUT, when you look at the Sale-A-Bration brochure, you'll see a little Asterik which means the item will be in the 2014-2015 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog – Yippee!  The final touch was adding Rhinestone Jewels and a little piece of the Tea Lace Paper Doily attached to the back of the top layer.  I really do love the way this card turned out and how it is Clean and Simple featuring a pop of color.

Project #2 – Cluster Elements Valentine

Hearts A Flutter Stamp Set

For my second card, I really wanted to do a fun card featuring clustered elements.  The card base is Whisper White with Strawberry Slush cardstock and another top layer of Whisper White cardstock.  On the top

layer of Whisper White cardstock, I stamped images from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set using the Strawberry Slush and Blushing Bride classic ink.

I placed a cluster of elements in the upper right hand corner starts with 1/2 of a punched circle using the 1 1/4" Circle Punch and wrapped with a small piece of Strawberry Slush 3/8" Ruffle Stretch Trim.    Next, I layered an arrow from the Hung Up Cute Clips with a Raspberry Ripple In color Dahlia finishing off the cluster.

The main cluster of this card consists of two hearts stamped from the Hearts a Flutter Stamp Set then cut out using the coordinating Hearts a Flutter Framelits.  Of course, the two hearts MUST overlap slightly.  Then I used the Peachy Keen Stamp Set and stamped the arrow using Blushing Bride classic ink and cut the arrow out using the coordinating On Film Framelits.  The tiny banner was made using the Sale-A-Bration Banner Blast stamp set and the Banner Punch with linen thread stitching the banners together.  Then I placed a second In Color Dahlias on the card but used a Primrose Petals In Color Dahlia.  Again, this is a fun and bright colored card perfect for sharing.  In my case, when my husband gets home from work I usually say "Hi Love" so I felt that was just the perfect sentiment for this card.

Project #3 – Ghirardelli Chocolate Envelope

Ghirardelli Treat Holder

Who doesn't LOVE Chocolate?  Well, for my third and final project I needed to combine crafting and chocolate.  I recently found these "Valentine's Impressions Ghirardelli Chocolates with a clear window and a message of love.  I used to make these little holders with the old Tulip Die which I no longer own then I realized I could make them just as easily with my Envelope Punch Board!  Now, for the size that I wanted, I had to figure out my own measurements for the square envelope.

For the envelope, I started with Smoky Slate cardstock which is cut to 4 3/4 x 4/34 then the Score line is set at 2 3/8 inches.  I then used the smallest Circle Framelit to cut out the circle to showcase the Ghirardelli Velentine's Impressions message.  Now, I just LOVE the new Spiral Flower Originals Die and the largest flower is made with this die.  The other flowers, follow the same concept but are punched with the different sized Scallop Punches then spiral cut by hand.   I do use Hot Glue on my flowers to help keep them from unwinding.  You'll also notice that I place a pearl in the center of each flower.  The leaves are cut from Gumball Green using the Secret Garden Framelits.  In the top right corner, I placed the small love banner from the Sale-A-Bration Banner Blast stamp set and punched out using the Banner Punch both which will be available on January 28, 2014 when Sale-A-Bration begins.
