PCCCS #32 – Best of Birthdays
Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me!
Yes, today is my Birthday! And, I just love the Best of Birthdays stamp set.
For this weeks Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch I challenge the Design Team to create Birthday Themed cards using the card sketch. I have to say that I just love all the birthday cards. I've also had fun the past few days creating Birthday Themed cards.
S
o, in honor of my Birthday, here is my design team submission for this weeks Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch featuring the Best of Birthdays stamp set!
The Happy Birthday Card is very cheery and fun with bright colors. The card base is Whisper White with a layer of Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper then I created a doily using the Daffodil Delight with the Delicate Doilies Sizzlits L which is layered under a strip of Pumpkin Pie Card Stock. The stamped image is from the Best of Birthdays Stamp Set stamped on whisper white. I used the Stampin' Marker to color the image with Pumpkin Pie for the words and flames while the candles and cake were colored with Real Red. Then I cut out the image and Real Red background layer using the NEW Oval Framelits. The flower was created using the 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch with an Antique Brad in the center. The flag is Whisper White cut out using the Hearts a Flutter Framelit and embossed using the Polka Dot embossing folder. The colors really are fun, bright and bold!
Now that I've shared my card with you for this weeks Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch Challenge, I encourage you to visit the Paper Craft Crew blog by clicking HERE to enjoy the creations from the remaining Design Team members. PCCCS #31: Best of Birthdays Stamp Set
I'm a little late on posting my card created for the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #31. I love the simplicity of this weeks card sketch and I hope you enjoy my card featuring the Best of Birthdays Stamp Set.
Best of Birthdays
Stampin' Up! Best of 25 Years…
As you may or may not know, Stampin' Up! is celebrating its 25th Anniversary and in January introduced a new collection of Stamp Sets called the "Best of 25 Years!" Each month a new stamp set will be introduced featuring select stamp sets going all the way back to day ONE. The January Stamp Set is called the "Best of Birthdays" and features various birthday themed stamps introduced over the past 25 years. Oh, I also forgot to mention that the stamp set also includes a NEW, exclusive birthday themed stamp.
I love how this card turned out featuring the Best of Birthdays stamp set and card sketch 31 from the Paper Craft Crew! The card base is Whisper White – keeping it simple! I then stamped the birthday present image in some of my favorite bright colors. The colors I used are Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise and Pumpkin Pie. I then punched each out with the 1" square punch. My next step was to punch our coordinating card stock using the Postage Stamp punch. Each square was then attached to the Whisper White. In the bottom right corner I stamped the "Celebrate" which is also from the Best of Birthdays stamp set!
This is such a fun and simple card to create. I hope you enjoy it… I know I do! Now I just need to go make a few more birthday themed cards using this stamp set so I can hand them over to my husband so he can choose my birthday card from the stash! You see, March is my Birthday Month! I always look forward to seeing which of my cards he selects from "the stash" of cards I keep on hand for him to raid.

SUOC #65 – Go Green
St. Patrick Day Card
The card starts with a Whisper White
card base then I created another layer using the Whisper White Card Stock embossed using the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used Sunshine & Sprinkles Designer Series Paper with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder running it through my Big Shot several times until it "ripped" the paper. I then cut out the individual Honeycombs and created a design on the Whisper White card stock with the Sunshine & Sprinkles Designer Series Paper. Next, I stamped little shamrocks using the Lucky Limeade classic ink in the Honeycomb design using the Itty BItties Stamp Set from the 2013 Spring Catalog. The sentiment I used is from the Occasions Alphabet Stamp Set which I punched out using the Large Oval Punch and then punched a boarder from the Lucky Limeade card stock using the Scallop Oval Punch. As a final touch on the card, I attached a piece of Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon to the card then tied a bow.

PCCCS 30 – Oh, Hello Stamp Set
Welcome to this weeks card sketch with Paper Craft Crew where I have featured the Oh, Hello stamp set. I love the sketch and plan to play with it more today and will post once I have another card or two done using this sketch but in the meantime, here is this weeks Design Team submission featuring the Oh, Hello stamp set for your viewing pleasure.
Oh, Hello
Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #30
I had just received the Tea For Two Designer Series Paper and really wanted to use it on this card. The colors began with the Island Indigo and just grew from that point. I love the Designer Series Paper but the main design ended up being hidden a bit. I knew I wanted to use the oval shape with the Chevron design from the Oh, Hello stamp set. I stamped the design using the So Saffron then stamped the Oh, Hello stamp set sentiment. At first I wasn't 100% certain where I was going but I do like the end product and find it to be refreshing with a taste of spring in the air. I also managed to use the build a brads for the first time.
Additional elements used include the Oval Framlit to cut the oval. I've also utilized one of my favorite embellishments which are the Pearls. The ribbon is the ruffled ribbon in the Island Indigo. Card stock used on the card include Island Indigo and So Saffron.

Oh, Whale Happy Valentine’s Day 3×3 Handmade Note Card
Happy Valentine's Day 3×3 Handmade Note Card!
Now that Caleb is in Preschool, I needed a cute and quick Valentine's Day card for him to give to each of his classmates. The new Oh, Whale Stamp Set has to be one of my favorites and was perfect for a cute 3×3 handmade Note Card which Caleb could give to each of his classmates as well as his teachers.
3×3 Handmade Note Card
Oh' Whale Stamp Set
The Oh, Whale Stamp set is found in the Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog. It is a fun, whimsical stamp set that I've been getting lots of use out of with Get Well cards and now the Valentine's Day 3×3 handmade note cards. I started with Whisper White as the base for the card then I stamped the "waves" using the Tempting Turquoise ink. The whale was also stamped with Tempting Turquoise then cut out using the Happy Whale Clearlits Die that coordinates with the Oh, Whale Stamp Set. Then I positioned the whale to overlap the waves, stamped the hearts using the Melon Mambo ink and the "Whale you be mine?" sentiment is also stamped using the Melon Mambo ink.

Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch 28
Welcome to another episode of the Paper Craft Crew featuring Card Sketch #28 with Color Challenge #5. So, I must confess that I really struggled with this color challenge and struggled with these colors. This isn't my favorite card but it is cute; perfect for a certain preschooler in my life to share with one of his teachers!
Storybook Friends Kid Friendly Card
For this weeks card sketch, I used the Storytime Designer Series Paper since it had the Wasabi Green which is one of the colors in this weeks color challenge. The other colors are So Saffron and Perfect Plum. Since the focus of this card turned into being kid friendly I knew I had to use the new Pinwheel sizzlet. I also embossed the Pinwheel before I assembled it. The stamp set is the Storybook Friends which coordinates with the Storytime Designer Series Paper.

Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #27
Ah, Tea Time! I'm a huge fan of Tea Cups and have a small collection of Tea Cups that I've collected or have given to me by a very good friend and mentor. As a young girl, I loved to hang out with our neighbor, Ellie. Over the years, she has passed on little gifts and family heirlooms to me that she knows I appreciates. My mom also loves to collect Tea Cups. Truthfully, I'm not a "big" tea drinker although I do know how to make a proper cup of British Tea as taught to me by my "cousin" Heather who is originally from the Coventry area of England. These are just a few of the reasons why I just love the Stampin' Up! Tea Shoppe Stamp Set.

Card Sketch #27
Tea Time and the Tea Shoppe come together to feature some wonderful Stampin' Up! products.[/caption]OK… I will admit that I did struggle a bit with this card. IN my mind I had a mental picture of how I wanted the card to look based on the card sketch. The large tea cup in the Tea Shoppe stamp set is the key focus of this card. I stamped the tea cup on Very Vanilla with versamark then used the Wild Wasabi embossing powder to heat emboss the tea cup. My next steps were to select my remaining elements. I really like the basic gray card stock as base for this card which is layered with Very Vanilla then Designer Series Paper ("DSP") called Fan Fair featuring Pink Pirouette as another primary color. The flower is created using the Blossom Punch to punch out three flowers from the Pink Pirouette card stock then they were crumpled and bound together with an Antique Brad. I then tied a Tea Time trinket around the brad. The "White Peony" was stamped with Basic Gray ink then punched out with the large oval punch and scallop oval punch.
So, I hope you enjoy some "Tea Time" on me!

SUOC #63 – Valentine Chalkboard Card
Welcome to my blog and my design submission for SU! Only Challenge #63. I really enjoyed making this card and I just love the Faux Chalkboard technique. The Faux Chalkboard technique is super easy and simple while really having a powerful effect. This card was the same card that my Goldsboro, NC Craft Club did for their January Club meeting. All the ladies just raved over this technique and how fun it is… Actually, I'll admit I was a bit worried about doing this technique because most of them are teachers.
Valentine Chalkboard Card
I used two stamp sets for this card from the Occasions Catalog. The stamp sets are the Hearts a Flutter and That's the Ticket stamp set. To create the card, I started with the Whisper White card base then layered on top the Basic Black. On the Basic Black, I randomly rubbed Craft White Ink over the black to create the effect of a black board. I then created a border using a white Colored Pencil. The hearts are heat embossed using the Melon Mambo Heat Embossing Powder. The Tags and Tickets used were stamped using Melon Mambo. The Tag was cut out using the matching framelit and the Ticket was punched out using the punch that matches the "That's the Ticket" stamp set.
SO much fun to make!

MDS2 – Snow
This was such a fun project. We were in Indiana over the Christmas holiday and there was SNOW! I was so excited and just had to bundle Caleb up to go outside for playtime in the snow. He really wasn't certain at first and DID NOT like his snow suit but once we had him on the sled pulling him around he had a blast. My wonderful husband, Mike, wasn't able to come on this month long adventure and we do miss him but we are still managing to have lots of fun. For our first weekend in Minnesota, we stayed at my parents 5th Wheel Camper at the In We Go Resort on 8th Crow Wing Lake near Nevis, MN. On Monday, we decided to visit Itasca State Park and the Headwaters of the Mississippi River. This was Caleb's first visit to the Mississippi Headwaters.
