SUOC #69 – Anything Sizzixs

Petite Purse Die

SUOC069-PJSMy Petite Purse is created using the Sizzix Petite Purse Die and I used card stock in one of my favorite colors, Calypso Coral, which I'm excited is going to become one of our Core Colors announced with the Color Refresh by Stampin' Up!  I opted to keep my Petite Purse simple focusing on simplicity.  I created a small rosette using a scallop punch which I cute into a spiral then curled the edges into the circular design creating a rosette.  I placed a pearl on the inside to add some "hidden" interest.  I used the Bird Builder punch for the leaf which is punched from Lucky Limeade.  Finally, I placed the pearls along the edge of the purse cover for an added touch of elegance.

PCCCS #38 Card Sketch: Cuddles & Kisses

Here we are with another installment of the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #38 featuring the Cuddles & Kisses Stamp Set.  As an adoptive mom, I just love this stamp set.  It comes close to my heart and means so much.

Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #38

Cuddles & Kisses

PCCCS038-PamWhile looking through my stamp sets and trying to decide how I wanted to start with this card using the card sketch I was immediately drawn to the Cuddles & Kisses Stamp Set along with Baja Breeze.  I'm sad to see that Baja Breeze is retiring especially as I love the tone of Baja Breeze next to Very Vanilla cardstock.

The base of the card starts with the Baja Breeze card stock layered with Very Vanilla card stock embossed using the Honeycomb Embossing Folder which I spritzed with Baja Breeze using the Color Spritzer Tool.  Then I stamped the adoption sentiment with the Baja Breeze onto Very Vanilla card stock and used the Labels Collection Framelit to cut out the sentiment which was layered on a piece of Baja Breeze cardstock also cut out using the Labels Collection Framelit.  To accent the Baja Breeze Labels background, I used the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack with the Paper Piercing tool to create texture.

One of my favorite parts of this card is the embellishment I created using the That's the Ticket Stamp Set "precious baby" stamp which was stamped twice and then punched out using the Ticket Punch.  I then stacked and used the whale shaped Elements Cute Clips (one of my favorites!!!) then attached it to the card.  Finally, I used the Delicate Doilies Sizzlits L for the final background element with Very Vanilla card stock.

So, I hope you enjoy this card as I know I'll be holding it close to my heart especially as my husband and I wait for a placement on Adoption #2.

PCCCS #32 – Best of Birthdays

Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me!

Yes, today is my Birthday!  And, I just love the Best of Birthdays stamp set.

For this weeks Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch I challenge the Design Team to create Birthday Themed cards using the card sketch.  I have to say that I just love all the birthday cards.  I've also had fun the past few days creating Birthday Themed cards.

SPCCCS032-PJSo, in honor of my Birthday, here is my design team submission for this weeks Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch featuring the Best of Birthdays stamp set!

The Happy Birthday Card is very cheery and fun with bright colors. The card base is Whisper White with a layer of Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper then I created a doily using the Daffodil Delight with the Delicate Doilies Sizzlits L which is layered under a strip of Pumpkin Pie Card Stock.  The stamped image is from the Best of Birthdays Stamp Set stamped on whisper white.  I used the Stampin' Marker to color the image with Pumpkin Pie for the words and flames while the candles and cake were colored with Real Red.  Then I cut out the image and Real Red background layer using the NEW Oval Framelits.  The flower was created using the 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch with an Antique Brad in the center.  The flag is Whisper White cut out using the Hearts a Flutter Framelit and embossed using the Polka Dot embossing folder.  The colors really are fun, bright and bold!

SketchNow that I've shared my card with you for this weeks Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch Challenge, I encourage you to visit the Paper Craft Crew blog by clicking HERE to enjoy the creations from the remaining Design Team members.  They really did do a great job with this weeks sketch.  And to help you get your mojo on, here is the sketch so you can play along!  Oh, and did I mention that you could WIN SOME BLOG CANDY if you create a Birthday Card and post it on the Paper Craft Crew blog?

PCCCS #31: Best of Birthdays Stamp Set

I'm a little late on posting my card created for the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #31.  I love the simplicity of this weeks card sketch and I hope you enjoy my card featuring the Best of Birthdays Stamp Set.

Best of Birthdays

Stampin' Up! Best of 25 Years…

Best of BirthdaysAs you may or may not know, Stampin' Up! is celebrating its 25th Anniversary and in January introduced a new collection of Stamp Sets called the "Best of 25 Years!"  Each month a new stamp set will be introduced featuring select stamp sets going all the way back to day ONE.  The January Stamp Set is called the "Best of Birthdays" and features various birthday themed stamps introduced over the past 25 years.  Oh, I also forgot to mention that the stamp set also includes a NEW, exclusive birthday themed stamp.

I love how this card turned out featuring the Best of Birthdays stamp set and card sketch 31 from the Paper Craft Crew!  The card base is Whisper White – keeping it simple!  I then stamped the birthday present image in some of my favorite bright colors.  The colors I used are Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise and Pumpkin Pie.  I then punched each out with the 1" square punch.  My next step was to punch our coordinating card stock using the Postage Stamp punch.  Each square was then attached to the Whisper White.  In the bottom right corner I stamped the "Celebrate" which is also from the Best of Birthdays stamp set!

This is such a fun and simple card to create.  I hope you enjoy it…  I know I do!  Now I just need to go make a few more birthday themed cards using this stamp set so I can hand them over to my husband so he can choose my birthday card from the stash!  You see, March is my Birthday Month!  I always look forward to seeing which of my cards he selects from "the stash" of cards I keep on hand for him to raid.

PCCCS36-47-001The Paper Craft Crew really enjoys creating samples using the weekly Card Sketch Challenges.  This week we introduced Card Sketch #31 and we hope you take the time to stop by the Paper Craft Crew by clicking HERE.  We offer a variety of different sketches from clean and simple to more complicated using layers.  I encourage you to also check out the other design team member submissions for this week.  There are a lot of great ideas.  The Paper Craft Crew is also unique in that we include samples using My Digital Studio.

Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #27

Ah, Tea Time!  I'm a huge fan of Tea Cups and have a small collection of Tea Cups that I've collected or have given to me by a very good friend and mentor.  As a young girl, I loved to hang out with our neighbor, Ellie.  Over the years, she has passed on little gifts and family heirlooms to me that she knows I appreciates.  My mom also loves to collect Tea Cups.  Truthfully, I'm not a "big" tea drinker although I do know how to make a proper cup of British Tea as taught to me by my "cousin" Heather who is originally from the Coventry area of England.  These are just a few of the reasons why I just love the Stampin' Up! Tea Shoppe Stamp Set.

Card Sketch #27

Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch 27 featuring the Tea Shoppe Stamp Set and Tea Time Trinkets from the Spring CatalogTea Time and the Tea Shoppe come together to feature some wonderful Stampin' Up! products.[/caption]OK… I will admit that I did struggle a bit with this card.  IN my mind I had a mental picture of how I wanted the card to look based on the card sketch.  The large tea cup in the Tea Shoppe stamp set is the key focus of this card.  I stamped the tea cup on Very Vanilla with versamark then used the Wild Wasabi embossing powder to heat emboss the tea cup.  My next steps were to select my remaining elements.  I really like the basic gray card stock as base for this card which is layered with Very Vanilla then Designer Series Paper ("DSP") called Fan Fair featuring Pink Pirouette as another primary color.  The flower is created using the Blossom Punch to punch out three flowers from the Pink Pirouette card stock then they were crumpled and bound together with an Antique Brad.  I then tied a Tea Time trinket around the brad.  The "White Peony" was stamped with Basic Gray ink then punched out with the large oval punch and scallop oval punch.

So, I hope you enjoy some "Tea Time" on me!

SUOC #60 – Glitter Galore Card

We have a fun challenge starting today with the Stampin' Up! Only Challenge Blog…  The them for Challenge # 60 is Glitter Galore.  Oh, how much fun we will have as we shimmer and shine for the Holidays.

Glitter Galore Card on SU! Only Challenges

Glitter Galore Card

I love this Glittery card with just the right amount of shimmer and shine!  The base is Whisper White with the background Night of Navy embossed with the Petals A Plenty Embossing Folder.  Then I used the Silver Glitter Paper cut out with the Apothecary Accent Framelit then I created an ornament stamped with Night of Navy.  I then RESTAMPED the image using the Illuminate Pad and stamped it slightly off center to create a "shadow" effect which is better seen in person.  I really love the simple elegance of this card!

To finish the card, I tied a fun bow using the Crumb Cake Scalloped Tulle Ribbon.  The stamped sentiment is from one of my favorite stamp sets, Tiny Tags and I used my one of my absolute favorite punches… the Jewelry Tag punch!

Don't forget to visit SU! Only Challenge Blog for additional inspiration for the Design Team Members.  Click HERE to see their creations.

So, what do you think?  I've fallen in love with the Scalloped Tulle Ribbon and love dressing up my cards and look forward to using it on Christmas Gifts as well this year.

PCCCS 16 – Christmas Elegance Card

Welcome to this weeks Card Sketch with the Paper Craft Crew as I feature a Christmas Elegance Card!  I just love getting into the crafting spirit as Thanksgiving and Christmas get closer and this week I enjoyed creating some beautiful Christmas Cards.  Here is my rendition of the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #16

Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #16

Christmas Elegance Card

Here is the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch 16 (PCCCS016):

Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch 16

I will be the first to admit that I wasn't 100% on board with this sketch and not certain how the "random" circle elements would fit into a card but as I started playing, I found inspiration and created a beautiful Christmas Elegance Card.  The main feature on my card is the Ornament which I cut out using the Ornament Framelit then I embossed the ornament using the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder.  I also embossed the background using the Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder.  Next, I layered Old Olive under a strip of Cherry Cobbler for the added "Christmas" colors.  The scalloped edge is created using the Finishing Touches Edgelits die.  The stamp set I used on this card is the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set from the Holiday Catalog.  I used a sentiment from the Tiny Tags stamp set which I punched out with the Jewelry Tag punch.  The pearls worked great and pulled the design into play as the "random" circle elements – I actually love how the pearls have an added elegance to the card.  My bow to "anchor" the ornament is the Cherry Cobbler Scalloped Tulle Ribbon.

So, what do you think?  I've fallen in love with the Scalloped Tulle Ribbon and love dressing up my cards and look forward to using it on Christmas Gifts as well this year.

MOJO261 – Perfectly Preserved

Mojo Monday 261 – Perfectly Preserved

This card was created using this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch (MOJO261) featuring the Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set with the Cannery Framelit Dies.

Serving Perfectly Preserved Pears

The card size is 5×5 square with the card base being Very Vanilla layered with Early Espresso and Pool Party.  The circle background is cut out using the 3 1/2" Circle Bigz Die then embossed using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  I then used the new Paper Piercing tool to create an outer circle.  The stripe is from the Brights Designer Series Paper Patterns Stack and the Polka Dot flag is from teh Neutrals Collection Designer Series Paper Patterns Stack.

From the Perfectly Preserved stamp set, I stamped the jar, cover and pears.  The Jar and cover were cut out using the Cannery Framelit set.  I also wrapped linen thread around the cover and tied a tag onto the cover to finish the card.  The tag is created using the Jewelry Tag punch and the sentiment is from the Tiny Tags stamp set.

PCCCS005 – Everything Eleanor Baby Card

Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #5

Everything Eleanor

Sweet Baby Girl Card featuring Everything Eleanor

Everything Eleanor Baby Girl card

So, I'm still on vacation until September 19th visiting my family in Minnesota.  I did bring a few Stampin' Up! supplies with me but I'm still limited to what I have and I must admit I'm enjoying the challenge.  One of the sets I brought along is the Everything Eleanor Stamp Set which is also going to be the September Stamp Set of the Month Club featured set.

I love how "sweet" this card turned out welcoming a baby girl to the family.  In fact, one of my college roommates recently adopted a little baby girl and I couldn't be happier for my friend, Angie, and her husband.  I hope to see them on September 15th and give her this card.  All I can say is that their little girl is SOOO cute and this card fits her!

The card starts with a Very Vanilla card base embossed using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder layered with a Very Vanilla "flag" embossed with the Argyle Embossing Folder.  I then stamped an image from the Everything Eleanor Stamp Set and cut it out using the Apothecary Accents Framelit that "somewhat" fits the image.  I then stamped the sentiment over the Everything Eleanor image.  The sentiment is from the A Word For You stamp set.  The blossom punch was used to create the background flower placed behind the cutout Everything Eleanor image.  The Bows create a special "sweetness" perfect for a little girl.
