Stampin' Up! Easy Events Stamp Set
The Easy Events stamp set is such a great, versatile stamp set perfect for the new stamper. This set has a good number of stamps that cover a variety of events. I really enjoyed creating this card using the Stampin' Queen's Sketch Challenge #9. A friend recently had a baby boy and I needed to create a cute "Congratulations Baby Card" for the big event.
Sunny Girl Scraps Helpful Hints:
- Use blender pens to soften the coloring on the stamped image if you decide to color in the image especially for a baby card.
- Layer darker colors lightly over lighter colors to add dimension when coloring an image. In this case, I used pumpkin pie to lightly add depth to the ducky image.
- Use the Stampin' Write Markers for a brighter, more saturated color when coloring an image.
- Using a background stamp with heat embossing is a great way to create texture on a card and fun to do!
- Start from the outside and work towards the center when coloring in the stamped image to create shading and depth.
- Sketches are a great way to help get the "juices" flowing and have fun without a whole lot of extra work.
The basis for this card starts with the Stampin' Queens Sketch Challenge # 9. I think you'll love this weeks sketch…
Actually, I'm really excited about this weeks sketch. It is the first sketch that I've created for the Stampin' Queens so I also had fun creating this baby card as an interpretation of my sketch. The sketch itself is beautiful and I made it using My Digital Studio. So, I challenge you to play along and create YOUR create your creative interpretation of this weeks sketch with the Stampin' Queen's Sketch Challenge #9. Get Well with Designer Frames Textured Embossing Folder
Get Well with Designer Frames Textured Embossing Folders
I absolutely love this Get Well card. The Designer Frames Textured Embossing Folders Set is a new product introduced in the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog. When mine first arrived, I wasn't certain how I was going to use these Designer Frames. While playing with the oval shape, I quickly found that I really liked the appearance of tearing out the embossed oval.
This is my first card using the Designer Frames Textured Embossing Folder set. I knew the basic card design I had been wanting to do with clustered elements and it was just a matter of time. The inspiration for this card started out with the Stampin' Up! Only Challenge Blog as I knew I needed a Get Well card for the current challenge. I also have a neighbor and wonderful client, Melissa, that just had major surgery so I really needed an elegant Get Well card for her.
To create this card, I started with a card base using River Rock Cardstock. The first layer is Ivory Natural stamped with the En Francais Background stamp using River Rock Classic Ink then wrinkled for a distressed appearance. Next, I used my Big Shot and Fun Flowers Bigz L Dies to create the background flowers that frame the Designer Frames Textured Embossing Folder. The Designer Series Paper that I used for the Fun Flowers is the River Rock from the Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack Neutrals Collection. The Fun Flowers are also sponged along the petals with River Rock to help create some depth. I used both the 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon and the Victoria Crochet Trim. The Always Artichoke 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon is gathered using a sewing technique called "Ruching."
Then I layered the Fun Flowers and Oval Designer Frames Textured Embossing Folder with a stamped image from the Love & Care Hostess Stamp Set found in the Summer Mini Catalog. I also sponged Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint around the edge of the Oval Designer Frame. The final touches were to add a vintage brad with the Victoria Crochet Trim tied in a bow around the brad along with three little Jewelry Tags tied onto the vintage brad with the words "Get Well" stamped on the top tag.
