Summer Fun

I'm so excited to be sharing some fun, Summer themed projects.  Summer is such a fun time spent with family and, for me, it means I'm usually going somewhere.  This year I'm planning a LONG Road-Trip to Minnesota to visit my family.  My son and I will be driving up to Northern Indiana to visit family then making our way to Minnesota for the month of August.  So, my first project is a card that is a reflection of my summer filled with traveling.  Summer also means "Fun, Bright Colors" so both my projects are a reflection of a BRIGHT color scheme.  The second project is a "Summer" banner for our home.  I just love the Canvas Banners and creating themed Home Decor.

Project #1 – Away We Go

Remarkables Pinworthy Blog Tour featuring Summer Fun projects. Handmade Card created by Pam Staples, SunnyGirlScraps.com, featuring the Around the World Stamp Set

The card base is Whisper White cardstock layered with Tempting Turquoise cardstock and another layer of Whisper White.  On the top layer of Whisper White, I stamped a background using the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set using Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoise.  The Oval is the central focal point of my card and I started by using the Around The World stamp set by stamping the suitcase with Daffodil Delight then the Airplane image with Pumpkin Pie and the camera with Old Olive.  The stamped oval then was attached to the larger Pumpkin Pie oval which I also pierced with the Paper Piercer and Occasions Paper Piercing template.  Next, I attached the three little banners to the card, attached the Essentials Hardware Clip to the oval then layered the oval over the banners.  For this step, I used dimensionals to help the elements POP off the card front so there is some depth of field to the card.  The final touch was adding the "Away We Go" which was stamped in Tempting Turquoise then cut out using the Starburst Framelits.

Project #2 – Summer Fun Banner

Summer Fun Canvas Banner created by Pam Staples for the Remarkables Summer Fun Pinworthy Blog Tour.

This is such a FUN project!  I used the Build A Banner Simply Created Kit which features the 5" x 7" blank canvas paper pennants along with image stencils.  The colors I used are Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler and Tempting Turquoise classic ink to stencil either the stripe, polka dots or chevron image onto the canvas paper pennants.  Another fun feature are all the Pinwheels that I made for the banner.  I was originally thinking of doing flowers on the banner but I live in a household where I'm the only "human" girl and right now my son just LOVES Pinwheels so I thought they would be perfect.  The circles were cut out using my Circle Framelits with the Big Shot then for the "SUMMER" I used my NEW Perfect Print Alphabet Bigz Dies.  I love how the banner turned out and how bright it is as it goes over our fireplace mantel.

I invite you to pin any of my creations to Pinterest and to share your thoughts or questions by leaving me a comment.  I love hearing from all my readers!
