Happy Halloween Mummy Card

RemARKably Creative Blog Tour

remarkable-2

Do you need an awesome Halloween Costume? One of my best Halloween Costumes is when I dressed as a Mummy and didn’t talk for about 30 minutes at a costume party since I was in the running for a prize.  And, yes, I did win! Take an old White Sheet, tear it into strips leaving the ragged edges then soak some of the strips in tea so it is stained.  Then slowly wrap yourself up.  You may need a friend to help.  I also wore white pants and shirt.  You WILL need a lot of safety pins!

The Cookie-Cutter Halloween Stamp Set is adorable.  Each character is cute and not scary which is what I love about this stamp set.  I also love that it coordinates with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch.

Now, today, I have a Happy Halloween Mummy Card just for you.  Besides the Cookie-Cutter Mummy, I’m also featuring the Halloween Night Specialty Designer Series Paper along with the coordinating Baker’s Twine and the Ghoulish Grunge Stamp Set. All of these products coordinate so wonderfully which is why I love Stampin’ Up! so much! This card features a Pumpkin Pie card base layered with Whisper White then a piece of the Halloween Night Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Next, I added the Baker’s Twine wrapped around the card base about 3 times and tied with a bow leaving the ends long.

  • I used the Layering Squares with Pumpkin Pie and Whisper White for the center square overlapping the Halloween Night Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Now, I really dislike spiders but for Halloween there is always a need for a spider web and the Ghoulish Grunge Stamp Set provides the perfect spider web background.
  • Finally, the focal point is the Happy Halloween Mummy in the center square.  This mummy is so adorable… Have I said that about 100x’s already?  Anyway, I stamped him with the Stampin’ Up! Basic Black Archival ink then used a blender pen with Soft Suede to color in the “bandages” so Mr. Mummy looked old.  The effect is perfect and turned out as I had hoped.  As the final touch, I added the sentiment from the Spooky Fun Stamp Set as a banner across the adorable mummy.
